Great Memory
In this pic Chainsaw is in Liquid Sound Studios in New Albany, IN with Doc Smith of Wisesmith Management, the manager of the great band Chamberflow. Chamberflow cut an acoustic track specifically for Acoustic Alternative that hit the top 20 on the station for 9 weeks in a row with 6 of those weeks at #1. Now, that’s a great memory. In light of the recent news about Ear Xtacy potentially being erased from Louisville I decided to go ahead and announce something I am introducing to artists of all genres. It’s a sad truth that local artists get little exposure and I think like most others do: it’s got to change! So artists of all genres, listen up closely. Thanks to a supporting cast by Shout! Radio Services and Daniels Doorstep I have an opportunity to give you exposure unlike any other. It’s a package that consists of a high definition video posted on YouTube for your portfolio, an interview like you see me post on this site (which will be posted on as many sites as I can including DanielDoorstep.com, this site, and Louisville Mojo), the opportunity for you to sell your merchandise to the public, and at times mention on local public broadcasting stations, and sometimes being aired live on Acoustic Alternative radio (for musicians). There is a lot more to it than that and you can find information here at AllForOnePromotions.com. I’m also using my html coding experience to come up with a list of artists in the Louisville area. I have realized that I cannot search one spot and find all the artists that exist in this city. So anyone who is in a band, who paints, who is a comedian, etc. send me your name and what you do and a link so I can get a public directory for this city. I hope to be able to start one of these conventions really soon but I need the cities support. I am going this alone as far as paying for the initial costs, doing the recruiting, doing the physical work and most of the advertising and it’s very difficult but my passion and desire to be a good samaritan and help others drives me forward. Hopefully, this will work. I have seen no one go to this extent. I can’t thank Shout Radio enough for their support. Here’s to everyone who has an art and skill to make the world a better place! I have sprained and fractured my left ankle, caught 2 nasty computer viruses where I had to wipe all computers and my external hard drive and also fought a 17 day nasty cold/flu. Please, no violins. “Hip hop has always been a part of me. Jay-Z and Nas were my leading inspirations. Illmatic is my favorite hip hop CD of all time. I gather all different things from different rappers. I grew up on Lil Wayne too; Tha Carter III made me want to go even harder. I’m a musical person, like the raps are important but the music is actually more important.
To be mainstream doesn’t mean you have to have mainstream beats or a vocoder like T-Pain. You just gotta be yourself and make music. Everybody does these fad things these days, they try to get with whoever the hottest producer is at the time.
I think I sound like an enigma, if you listen to me and you don’t see me you’ll probably think I’m something else. I listen to my shit and I wanna change so many things, and then I sit back and think to myself I’m pretty good at this.
When you live in the Ville you wanna leave but then you realize how this is a great city. Something makes you want to make people outside of here appreciate us. Over the past 3 years we have built some great memories and I will share some of them with you over the next few weeks.
Johnny Spanish, is a 21 year old Louisville native who has his sights set on making the big scene. Its hard to classify his genre, he is an artist who shifts between hip hop, soul, R&B, and blues. In a simple sense neither Louisville nor the nation is ready for the creative potential that Johnny Spanish poses so easily. Spanish exhibits a passion for music making that isn’t as apparent these days as it has been throughout history. A newcomer to the industry, only composing music for a total of two years now, Johnny has been working with some major people. He is currently residing in Brooklyn, New York in search of more options to get his shot as a major player in the music business.
